Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Hope everyone has had an amazing christmas (i sure have) and that you all have great parties tonight to bring in the New Year !!

This year has been pretty awsome: of course firstly running my first womens 10k, returning from an expedition in Africa, leaving school to start my course at Glasgow Caledonian, good nights out and gigs and then to top it off being picked for face of the race 2011 :) Looking foward to what the new year will have instore.

Kicking it off by heading of to France tomorrow "Risoul" to be specific for a week of good banter and snowboarding, then back for the launch on thw 10th of January and after that I will need to kickstart my training for May !!!

Met up with a group of friends from my old high school last week and me being on the leaflets has tempted them to possibly sign up for the run (no idea why as there are far greater thingsabout thw 10k than me being on the leaflets :P) but I will be making sure they stick by their word ... no backing out now !!

All the Best

First Blog as Face of Race

Here goes the first blog since finding out I was going to be one of the faces of the race 2011 :)

Cant explain how excited and suprised I was when I got the call and cant wait till the race in May. Although I will certainly need that time to get ready for it as my training has been well ...non exsistant for a good while now.

The photoshoot was great fun and can't wait till the final shots come out ! Also looking foward to the launch in January just need to ensure no injuries the week before -since I will snowboarding in France- :)

So bring on less snow and clear paths and the training will begin ......

Winter blues

I'm new to blogging, so you'll have to bear with me. Having recently been told I'm a 'Face of the Race' (the most 'mature' one!), I feel a bit of a fraud because I haven't been out running for several weeks now. The pavements are still icy and treacherous and I'm not going to risk a fall, as I'd be out for weeks more. I had a great pre-Christmas drink (or several!) with women from my infomal running group and it's great to make new, like-minded friends through running.

Let's hope the weather warms up soon, so that we can get out there and start running off those mince pies, to make room for the turkey and Christmas pud!
